Local B&B Receives International Recognition!
The Whistling Swan Inn has been named one of the Top Ten B&B/Country Inns in Arrington's 2004 Book of Lists for the B&B Traveler.
Arrington Publishing held a contest where inn goers voted on their favorite B&B/Country Inns among different categories. The fifteen winners in each category represent the finest and most luxurious bed and breakfast inns throughout the United States and Canada. The winners could place in only one category and they are listed in the category where they received the greatest number of votes.
"The Whistling Swan Inn is a wonderful old home built by Justice of the Peace, Daniel Best, in 1905 for his wife, Sarah," reports Liz Armstrong, Innkeeper. "We are elated to receive a recognition from the people who know us best, those who have stayed here!" After passing through six families, this wonderful old house was restored to its turn-of-the-century Victorian splendor and was converted to a bed and breakfast inn in 1985. It boasts 9 rooms with private baths, including a new Jacuzzi/fireplace suite."
